The Frederick Amateur Repeater Group, a repeater group that has been in the Frederick MD area since the 1960’s is merging with the Mid-Atlantic Wireless Communications Group.
The Frederick Amateur Repeater Group (FARG) has 3 repeaters located in the Frederick area with one FM and 2 D-Star repeaters.
The Mid-Atlantic Wireless Communications Group (MAWCG) has 2 repeaters, one in Frederick and a new one in Chambersburg PA. MAWCG also has a couple of digipeaters, a Winlink hybrid gateway and a few more radio technologies.
Combining the two organizations strengthens both groups.
The MAWCG has a few projects that are custom software and tools designed just for the Amateur (Ham) Radio community as well as some hardware projects for Amateur Radio.
