Nets

We have a number of nets that are on our repeaters. Some of them are nets that we host and some are nets that we join our repeaters to for everyone to participate.

Our Nets

Ares Net

• Day: Every Monday except the 3rd Monday of every month
• Time: 7:30 PM

• Net Type: Controlled – One Pass

This is the weekly ARES net for Frederick County. Everyone is welcome, you do not need to be an ARES member to join.

ARES nets provide updates on local ARES activities, allow people to test their equipment and allow everyone to contribute via an announcement and/or a comment for everyone.

This net is a controlled net and we take one pass through the list and check for new checkins or re-checks up until the end.

This net is the friendliest net in the area. Everyone is welcome and the subjects change for every net.

This is a very flexible net and sometimes starts 10 minutes early and sometimes runs late. Check in when you can and leave when you have to.

The Weather Net is where everyone comes to talk and learn about the weather. This repeater is the SKYWARN repeater for Frederick County and Rick our Skywarn Coordinator.

This net is a controlled net and after you learn something about the weather and get updates on local weather and statistics, anyone that wants to comment can add to the discussion by way of comments.

ARRL Mid-Atlantic Section Net

• Echolink: WASH_DC Conference Server
• Day: Every 3rd Friday of the Month
• Time: 8:00 PM
• Net Type: Controlled

This net is held monthly on the 3rd Friday of the month. Normally, Marty (KB3MXM) who is our section coordinator is the net control.

Our repeater connects to the WASH_DC echolink conference server just prior to 8pm for this net and will drop after the net is over.

Capitol Area D-Star

• Mode: D-Star
• Reflector: REF062A
• Day: Every Wednesday
• Time: 9:00 PM
• Net Type: Controlled

This is a D-Star net that is for the Capitol Area but radio operators check in from all over. This net is hosted on the REF062A reflector.

The 444.8 repeater connects to REF062A just before the Maryland D-Star net @ 8pm and stays connected till 10:10pm to cover this net.
