The W3FDK callsign at one time belonged to Rolan Clark when he was trustee of the FARG repeater.
FDK is the airport designator for the Frederick airport so the W3FDK call fits well into the repeaters located here in Frederick.
Rolan went back to his old callsign and released W3FDK. After the 2 year waiting period FARG requested a new vanity callsign and got granted W3FDK.
All of the repeaters, digipeaters, echolink and winlink will be setup to use this new callsign.
The first to switch over is the W3ICF 146.73 repeater in Frederick. Along with the change on the repeater, the echolink callsign has now been changed to W3FDK-R. Along with the change of the callsign on echolink, the node number changed from the familiar 14613 node number to 614369. We have inquired on how to get back that custom node # on the new callsign.
We are in the process of trying to change the D-Star repeaters and will put out an update once that is complete.
